Our Story
Whitfield Toronto began with a simple frustration.
After years in retail buying, Margaret Whitfield watched beautifully made clothing get lost in a sea of fast fashion and fleeting trends. She noticed that women weren't looking for more clothes — they were looking for pieces that felt like them. Timeless, effortless, and quietly confident. Pieces that could take you from a Tuesday morning meeting to a Friday night dinner.
So, in the city she had called home for over twenty years, she started Whitfield.
The idea was simple: fewer pieces, better made. Clean lines, quality fabrics, and designs made for real life. Every piece is carefully considered — not just for how it looks today, but for whether it deserves a place in your wardrobe for years to come.
Toronto continues to shape us. Its old brick, glass towers, unpredictable weather, and constant movement can be found in our silhouettes, layers, and understated approach.
We're a small, independent Canadian label. We work with makers we trust, take our time getting things right, and believe that fewer, better pieces are worth more than a closet full of almost-right ones.
Thank you for being part of Whitfield.
